Capital City Lighting celebrates two years of activity at Sparkle Night this Thursday, October 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The open house event will feature an artist showcase and mini makers market with local vendors like Wanderlust by Abby, Mimosa Handcrafted, Geaux Clear Collection, Truly Haute Candles and many more.

LASM’s Gala Brings a Night of Virtual Entertainment and Art on Friday

The 36th annual Louisiana Art & Science Museum gala will be broadcast live this Friday, October 8 at 7 p.m.

Theme around the museum’s news “Iridescence” exhibition, the virtual presentation will include a guided tour of the exhibition by a curator; a silent auction and raffle with unique works of art, fine jewelry and spirits up for grabs; cocktail and craft demonstrations and more.

Rock at Live After Five Friday

After postponements throughout 2020 and 2021, Live After Five finally returned last week.

The Downtown Business Association’s weekly outdoor concert series continues this Friday, October 8 with hip-hop, R&B and funky, soulful rock by Shaun Ward Xperience.

Live After Five is free, every Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., until November 5 on the Galvez stage at Rhorer Plaza in downtown Baton Rouge. Find more information and the complete program here.

Enjoy acoustic performances at Old Time Music Open Jam Sunday

Take out your violins and acoustic guitars this Sunday, October 10 for Old Time Music Open Jam at the West Baton Rouge Museum.

On the second Sunday of each month, guests and musicians are invited to a free concert at the museum. Although the jam session leans towards old country, bluegrass, and folk tunes, performers are welcome to play acoustic music of any genre. Whether you are a seasoned musician or just learning your instrument, everyone is encouraged to participate.

Dance to a free Sunday show in the park

Sunday in the park, the Grand Baton Rouge Arts Council’s outdoor concert series continues downtown this Sunday, October 10.

Group News Cajun Xpress takes the stage at the Shaw Center for the Arts Plaza, bringing his signature blend of Cajun, Zydeco, Louisiana swamp pop, blues and rock ‘n’ roll.
