According to a New York Times report, it was recently revealed that BTS singer RM, who has become an art patron for artists, has built up an art collection over the past few years and is even planning to open an art space. Reflecting on his passion for the visual arts, RM revealed how it came about by chance while adding that he never enjoyed it much when his parents took him to museums. On top of that, he revealed how he sat in his hotel room in 2018 when he decided to venture to the Art Institute of Chicago and added how paintings by Seurat and Monet captivated him. . “It was almost like Stendhal syndrome. It was like: wow. I was looking at these artworks and it was an amazing experience,” he said.

Additionally, BTS RM defined their taste in the art by revealing that it is “eternity, and it comes from that fast-paced and hectic aura of this K-pop industry.” Stating in greater detail the iconic works of art by deceased artists, he revealed how he thought they looked at him, what motivated him. “I feel like they are watching me. I’m motivated. I want to be a better person, a better adult, because there is this aura that emanates from these works on display, ”he said.
