DURHAM- Duke graduate student Delaney Graham will perform the national anthem ahead of the Blue Devil women’s soccer match against Wake Forest at Koskinen Stadium on Thursday, October 6 at 7 p.m.
Graham, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, started all 11 games for the Blue Devils and helped the fourth-ranked team to an 8-3, 3-1 ACC standings. In Thursday’s game, she is expected to make her 92nd career start, which will surpass Tara Campbell’s previous mark of 91 as Duke’s all-time record holder.
Since arriving at Durham, Graham has sung the national anthem at numerous Duke sporting events, including women’s soccer, baseball and men’s basketball. Last April, Graham was one of four student-athletes from NCAA men’s basketball Final Four schools to sing the national anthem ahead of the national semifinals in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Graham also sang with Duke a capella band Lady Blue, which released an EP titled Dandelion on Apple Music and Spotify in 2020. She was the lead solo on the song 66 Days.
Thursday’s game against Wake Forest will be Duke’s annual “pink game,” as the Blue Devils will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer research at the Duke Cancer Institute.
