AUGUSTA – The Doug and Dave Show is scheduled to present “Mass Confusion” – a mix of humor, song and teachings from the Catholic Church – at 3 pm Sunday, September 19 at St. Augustine Church and in the Hall of 75 Northern Ave. .
The event will begin with a social activity from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Salle Saint-Augustin followed by a show in the church. After the show, mass will be held in the church at 4:45 p.m.
In “Mass Confusion”, Doug Brummel and Dave Wilson will bring the Mass to life through skits, characterizations and original music.
“Our prayer is that the next time people come to a real Mass they will appreciate its ancient history and realize that they are part of something that has been ripening on the vine for 2,000 years,” Brummel said, according to one Portland Roman Catholic Diocese press release. “We hope they participate more, sing more, pray more, and even become better stewards of all that God has blessed them.”
“We hope that the music we have composed can help bring each part of Mass to life in new ways,” Wilson said.
Since launching “Mass Confusion” in 2018, as well as recording an original Faith in Action album in Nashville, the duo have become in demand for parish and diocesan events, youth gatherings and conferences. They have presented at major conferences like the National Catholic Youth Conference and the National Federation for the Pastoral Care of Young Catholics.
Brummel has traveled the United States for over 30 years, serving over 1,400 parishes with parish missions, retreats and presentations. Wilson is an established musician, singer and storyteller. Award-winning songwriter, he has spent most of the past two decades as a touring country music artist. Both men serve their local parish family as cult leaders.
