Global Fusion Band Mitsune will release their second album, “Hazama”

World music ensemble Mitsune is set to release its second album, “Hazaama” on February 18, 2022. Mitsune is a 5-piece band based in Berlin with members hailing from Japan, Germany, Australia and Greece. Led by an all-female trio of female tsugaru shamisen players and backed by a rhythm section of percussion and double bass, Mitsune offers an unconventional and passionate form of global fusion.

The material of “Hazama” consists of an exciting mix of recreated Japanese folk songs and original pieces combined with Middle Eastern music, blues, jazz, rock and cinematic sounds. Mitsune released their self-titled debut album, mitsune, in 2018.

Ensemble members include Shiomi Kawaguchi, Tina Kopp and Youka Snell on tsugaru shamisen; Petros Tzekos to percussion; and Noriko Okamoto on the double bass.

“Hazama” will be available on CD, vinyl LP and digital.
