June Fling brings entertainment, music and “Star Wars” to Oneonta


ONEONTA, Ala. (WHNT) – A festival returns for its 20th year.

The June Fling returns to Oneonta on Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the city’s downtown core. 100 kiosks, a cruise for vehicles of all kinds, a children’s zone, as well as live music and entertainment will highlight the annual festival.

Additionally, there will be a pre-event on Friday night, June 10. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Jump into the Fling features live entertainment from the Chapter V Band, as well as a variety of food trucks at the corner of 1st Avenue and 3rd Street. .

Saturday entertainment includes:

  • Saxophonist Kevin Moore
  • Clog Wild Hooves
  • A fashion show with local models showcasing the fashions available in Oneonta
  • Martha Chasteen, nominated for 2022 Alabama Country Singer of the Year
  • Southern soul rocker Taylor Hunicutt
  • Suburban Love Junkies
  • The Chris Posey Group
  • The Edmonds Butler Group

In the Kids’ Zone, a 32-foot-long air-conditioned truck will offer free arcade games, a free petting zoo, face painting (additional $5 fee) and meet and greets with Alabama members. Garrison of the 501st Legion, the international cosplay organization for “Star Wars”.
