Live music returning to Mann Center this weekend for HoagieNation 2021 – CBS Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Live music returns to the Mann Center this weekend for HoagieNation 2021, presented by Dietz & Watson. It’s a celebration of the music of Philly and, of course, the hoagies of Philly, and CBS3 is proud to sponsor all the fun and food.

About 9,000 guests are expected to go out on Saturday to enjoy a day full of great music and great food.

One of the highlights of this event will be hoagie tastings at sandwich shops across our city, and officials say guests should come hungry.

With the Mann as a backdrop, live music will be played throughout the day.

HoagieNation will feature two dueling scenes throughout the day, starring Kool & the Gang and Philly’s own Hall & Oates.

CBS3 got a preview on Friday as Mann’s teams settled in, including the Dietz & Watson team.

Live music was one of the first areas to shut down and really was one of the last to fully reopen in the wake of the pandemic.

In fact, the Mann had to put staff on leave last year when everything closed, which is why organizers say coming back and doing it safely was a conversation that started over a year ago. and continues to be a top priority for staff and guests.

“You can expect improved cleaning measures throughout the campus throughout the day. We also have hand sanitizing stations everywhere. All of our washrooms are contactless, which makes the campus as safe as possible for anyone who visits us tomorrow, ”said COO Anthony Slade.

Because the Mann is an outdoor space, organizers also point out that following city protocols, masks will be optional but are highly recommended for those who are not vaccinated.
