The 92nd day of Jubilee arrives this week in Mechanicsburg.
A press release for the event says around 70,000 people could attend the massive event, which will involve 300 businesses, community groups, vendors and artists.
Jubilee Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Mechanicsburg and will feature performances by various musical bands and artists, as well as a demonstration by the West Shore Academy of Martial Arts. There will also be a free petting zoo and exhibits of vintage automobiles and racing cars.
In a press release for the event, Jeff Palm, executive director of the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce, said the group was thrilled to be hosting the event again after a three-year hiatus.
“This year has been highly anticipated by many in the community and it gives us a chance to get back to doing the things we used to,” Palm said.
The festival takes place on Main Street, which runs from York Street to Walnut Street, and on Market Street, from Simpson Street to Strawberry Avenue. A free shuttle service will transport visitors to the event from West Shore Evangelical Church at 1345 Williams Grove Road and Immanuel Church at 800 South Market Street in Mechanicsburg.
The service will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will transport visitors to the Pennsylvania Lottery bus stop on South Market Street. Pets and bicycles are not permitted at the event. For more information, including a map of the festival area, visit the Jubilee website here.
