Randy Dean Schilling

1950 – 2022

Randy Dean Schilling aka RD Schilling, 72, of Camp Verde, Arizona, died in the comfort of his home on Saturday August 13, 2022.

He was born in Portland, Oregon and was predeceased by his parents Paul and Paula Schilling and his stepdaughter Margaret Arredondo.

Randy is survived by his wife of 34 years Julie Schilling of Camp Verde, Arizona; his only son Forrest Schilling of Sacramento, California; brother Jeff Schilling of Montana; sister Becky Lewis of Montana; daughters-in-law Christina Castro of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Jo Ann Castruita Flagstaff, Arizona, Tina Calderon of Prescott Valley, Gloria Elenes of Camp Verde and Julia Arredondo Prescott Valley; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was raised in a musical family and was mentored by his father Paul who taught Randy the music he loved so much and became an incredible rhythm, lead, bassist and guitarist. He then spent the rest of his life traveling around the United States and performing with his family in bands such as the Shi-Lo’s, The Schillings and The Sons of The Golden West and many other bands. He enjoyed performing at the VA Hospital and the Arizona Pioneers Home in Prescott, Arizona for the elderly. Randy was also a proud vet and served in the US Navy.

He was loved by everyone he met and will be dearly missed by his family and close friends. May he rest in peace.

There will be no revival or visitation due to the closed casket only. Interment took place at Middle Verde Cemetery on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. for those who wished to join us in interring him. A rally followed at Julie’s home in Camp Verde, Arizona. Condolences can be shared at
