German guitarist Jen Majura has announced that she is parting ways with her longtime band Evanescence.
Taking to her Twitter account on May 22, the 38-year-old singer broke the news of her exit from the American rock band.
“I feel the need to say that none of this was my decision! I have no hard feelings against anyone and I wish Evanescence the best. I am blessed with fond memories of the past few years, I am grateful.”
Majura, who describes himself as “half Asian living in Germany”, joined the rock band in August 2015 replacing Terry Balsamo.
The official Evanescence Twitter account also broke the news of Majura’s split from the group.
“It’s been a very special chapter in the band with our dear friend Jen Majura, but we’ve decided it’s time to part ways. We will always love and support her, and we can’t wait to see what she does next. next.! We are so grateful for the good times and good music we made together around the world.”

Born on June 16, 1983, Jen Majura is from Stuttgart, Germany and was originally named Jennifer Majura Indrasen. She joined American rock band Evanescence as lead guitarist in 2015.
At the age of six, she began to take an interest in music and has been playing professionally since 2000. Majura also has a music school in Brilon, Germany.
Majura was a member of the groups Black Thunder Ladies (singer and guitarist), Equilibrium (bass), Knorkator (guitarist) and Evanescence 2015 (guitarist).
She has reached many milestones in her career including performing at many major European metal festivals including Wacken in Germany, Hellfest in France and Graspop in Belgium.
She has also traveled the world, appeared on television and worked in the studio with Blind Guardian. Jen started playing guitar for German band Knorkator in 2012.
Later, she joined metal band Pagan Equilibrium as bassist in May 2014. Jen has a thriving music school in Germany and has also produced solo recordings.
In 2019, Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee expressed her excitement about having Majura in their band. She said Jen Majura has been a great addition since she was a singer and added to background vocals at live concerts.
“I’m such a big fan of layered voices, and having that better represented on our show has been a nice breakthrough for me. And also, she’s just crazy energy. She’s got a great attitude, fun personality, very engaging, killer on scene, so she’s been a fun addition to our family. And of course, it’s great to have another girl in the band for the first time.
Majura has so far released two solo albums, Jen Majura in 2014 and InZENity in 2017.
Evanescence released The bitter truth, their first album in ten years, in 2021, which the Los Angeles Times described as his “fierce songs to date”. The last hit of the group, better off without youwas their first Top 10 Rock Radio single in ten years, while their previous single, use my voicewas nominated for “Best Rock” at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Evanescence was nominated for “Best Rock” for the second year in a row and was also the only female-fronted group nominated in the category that year.
